Setting up Qcollector for EOD 5.0

Qcollector is a program that downloads price data from eSignal (and Quote.com) http://www.mechtrading.com/qcollector/esignal/index.htm. This page will show you how to set this up for ease of integration into MTPredictor EOD:

First please use the ASCII file format when setting up your Portfolios in Qcollector:

Then the ideal settings to use for your individual data files are:

This will create ASCII data files in the Folder you have chosen on your hard drive:

Here I have created a Folder called C:\Qcollector\May1, so the ASCII data files will be created in C:\Qcollector\May1

Now please use the Explorer Tab in the Open data File module to navigate to the Folder in which you saved your data files, then double click on a data file to Pot:

The first time you Plot a date file in MTPredictor, you will be asked to "define" the data definition. I have included a screen shot of the option to use for these data files:

As a double check you can see part of the data files in the bottom part of this window. You can use this to make sure you have the correct date format (for example), which is yyyymmdd here. Also, a "Time" option will be displayed if your data files has a Time column (for intraday data files)

Note: please DO NOT mix daily and intraday data files in the same folder - this WILL NOT work as these have different ASCII definition .....

Your charts should now plot in MTPredictor.

Please note: make sure your data is current in Qcollector. If not, please download any missing days to give you a complete history.
